It is fashionable today to wear mugappu or side pendant. It was introduced in the small screen serials. These small side pendants are hooked to the regular chain with rings. Mugappu come in gold and micro gold plated metals. These traditional ornaments are studded with precious or semi-previous stones. Thali chain can also have a mugappu on one side.
